Before anything, I just want to say that flotsam is one of my all-time favourite books. I love looking at the stunning illustrations and especially listening to someone else read to me what they think the story is about. The book starts with a kid examining crabs on the beach when a wave knocks him over and a camera washes onto shore. David Wiesner is such a talented illustrator. His drawings enchant me every time I read it and find me wishing and hoping that the underwater camera one day washes up on the shore and I find it. This wordless picture book is a wonderful book that I recommend for all ages. I hope you love it as much as I do.
